(= Mary Martha Butt Sherwood), all Amsterdam, G.J.A. Beijerinck, 1843, all 2nd ed., 16-31 p., with woodcut ills. (several signed or monogrammed in the block by A. Cranendonck), orig. uniform printed wrapper in various colours, 16mo (12 x 7.5 cm) (good set w. occas. sm. defects).
All translated from English. Almost certainly a complete set of the Beijerinck editions of the works by Mrs. Sherwood. Comprises: De wandeling; Elk ding behoort op zijne regte plaats; De vlijtige bij; De trouwe sultan; Maria en hare broeders; De duif; (7) De vlijtige bij. Naar de dertiende Engelsche uitgave van Mrs. Sherwood. Met houtsneêplaatjes. Vierde druk. Gouda, G.B. van Goor, 29 p., with handcol. woodcut ills. (the first signed A. Cranendonck in the block). This edition not in PiCarta. On the back wrapper a printed list of 6 titles by Mr. Sherwood, corresponding with titles (1-6) of this lot. And 2 similar small publications. (total 9)
