[USA: c. 1945.] A period woolen 4-nation liberation flag, central white cross, with the flags of the 4 principal combatants printed at each corner, the USA, Great Britain, Communist China and Nationalist China. The flag is made up of seven sewn panels, with the hoist unmarked, and the verso of the flag left blank. a few small holes. 620 x 970 mm. (24.5 x 38 inches.) An unused and unusual special Liberation flag obviously made up for a Liberation type parade in China, but the placing of both the Communist and Nationalist flags together would have created an issue with China, as both forces were still at war with each other, and it is unlikely this flag was ever used. It was probably the concoction of an American Defense Dept. official.
