Chinese Twelve-Panel Inlaid Lacquer Screen 19th/20th Century Each panel divided into three sections, inlaid with jade, hardstones, wood and cloisonne enamel on a black ground, the upper circular roundel inlaid with a single figure, the central section with flower filled vases, auspicious symbols and scholars' objects set on stands, above the lower section worked with birds among naturalistic blossoming flowers and rockwork, the end panels with additional gilt cloud scrolling, all within a raised frame carved with stylized scrolling, the reverse of each panel painted with a gold, green and red shou character surrounded by stylized scrolling. Height 86 1/2 inches, width of each panel 11 3/4 inches. C
Scattered areas of lacquer loss around the frames. Scattered minute areas of lacquer loss overall. Approximately four top corners with lacquer loss. One base panel with loss to one stone furled leaf. Feet covered by metal caps, some of the legs above the metal caps have areas of lacquer loss. One base panel with a stone wing of a butterfly missing.
