Christo & Jeanne-Claude French/American, 1935-2020 and 1935-2009 The Pont Neuf, Wrapped (Project for Paris) , 1982 Signed and dated Christo 1982 (upper element, ur) Charcoal, graphite, pastel, fabric, thread, and architectural print on paper mounted on board, in two parts 22 x 28 inches (55.88 x 71.12 cm) and 11 x 28 inches (27.94 x 71.12 cm) Provenance: Purchased directly from the artist by the current owner Exhibited: Mexico City, UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies , 1982 C
Both works are within plexiglas boxes. Both plexiglas boxes show surface wear and scratches, and minor cracking, wear to corners. There are pieces of adhesive tape on the outside of each corner on both elements. No notable issues to the larger work on board. The smaller work on board is lifting in the center, and glue marks of the collaged paper elements are visible.
