[CHURCHILL, WINSTON L.[EONARD] SPENCER, Sir] ROBERTS-JONES, IVOR (1913-1996) Sir Winston Churchill Bronze maquette for the monument in Parliament Square, numbered 121 on the bronze base, cast at the Meridian Bronze Foundry (where the Parliament Square sculpture was also cast). Patinated mid-brown, 21 inches (51 cm) tall, standing on a square white stone base inscribed "Churchill"; 24 1/2 inches (62 cm) overall. With the original shipping crate. Fine condition . The maquette is a reduction of the large-scale sculpture of Sir Winston Churchill by Roberts-Jones, commissioned in 1971, that now stands in Parliament Square in London. The bronze was offered by The Library of Imperial History, publishers of The Collected Works of Sir Winston Churchill (1976-76), offered exclusively through December 1976, and was listed in the firm's "Limited Edition Portfolio 1976/1977" for sale at £630. Although apparently conceived as an edition of 500, it seems likely that fewer than 200 examples were produced, based on the numbering of the examples that have been offered at auction. C
