CHURCHILL, Winston S. Photographic portrait, signed and inscribed as Prime Minister, 10 Downing St., 25 March 1954. 10 x 8in . Vivienne, 20th Century Studios Ltd. Stamp on verso, with 10 Downing St. label with date, also pasted on verso.

Stamp on verso, with 10 Downing St. label with date, also pasted on verso. A FINE, INSCRIBED PHOTO PORTRAIT OF CHURCHILL IN HIS SECOND PREMIERSHIP, signed and inscribed on lower margin: "To James Dunn from his friend of many years Winston S. Churchill." A Canadian-born financier and industrial magnate, Dunn (1874-1956) worked with Churchill during the Great War when he helped supply nickel from Norway. He was a man of great wealth and many eccentricities, such as having his shoe laces ironed, and commissioning 13 different portraits of himself, including one by Salvador Dali.
