These Aldo Cipullo for Cartier earrings in eighteen karat yellow gold will add a whimsical element to any ensemble. Resembling traditional buttons, the earrings are made of jet black onyx discs accented with highly polished yellow gold X's which thread through the button holes. The pair are 1 1/8 inches in diameter and are in very good condition with the clip backs in excellent working order. Aldo Cipullo (Italian, 1936-1984) Jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo is best known for the LOVE bracelet he designed for Cartier in 1969. The bracelet was Mr. Cipullo’s first design upon joining Cartier in that same year, having previously designed jewelry for Tiffany & Co. and the David Webb jewelry concern. Of his iconic Cartier design, Mr. Cipullo stated that the bracelet combined two tenants of his work – design and function. After the creation of the LOVE bracelet, he designed the famous “Juste un Clou” – the Nail collection. Mr. Cipullo, who was born in Rome, was introduced to jewelry design by his father, Giuseppe, a costume-jewelry manufacturer. Cartier The exclusive French jeweler and watch company Cartier was founded in Paris in 1847 and gained international renown in 1904 with the ‘Santos de Cartier’, a wristwatch created for the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont. A further milestone in the history of modern watchmaking was the introduction of the Tank watch in 1917, which was inspired by British First World War tanks. With their Paris boutique established in the Rue de la Paix, Cartier soon opened further branches in London, New York and St. Petersburg to cater to the demand of a growing international clientele. Cultivating ties to important members of the aristocracy, Cartier became the supplier to the most notable royal dynasties of the 20th century. In addition to jewelry and watches, Cartier offers a wide range of various leather goods, perfumes, pens, lighters, sunglasses and all sorts of accessories. To this day creations by Cartier are must-haves in the international luxury market. Sie haben Interesse an diesem Objekt? Vorgebot abgeben
