Four steel engravings, likely book plates. “Battle of Lookout Mountain, GA.” Overall print size 8.25 x 11 in., image 4.75 x 7.75 in. Engraved after a painting by John Reuben Chapin (1825-1894), engraver unknown. -- “Battle of Gettysburg.” Possibly mistitled. Overall 8.25 x 11 in., image approx. 5 x 7.5 in. By F.O.C. Darley and W. Ridgway. -- “Genl . P. H. Sheridan” steel engraving ca. 1885. Overall 8.25 x 11 in., image approx. 5.75 x 7 in. -- “Genl. W. T. Sherman” steel engraving. Overall 8 x 11 in., image approx. 5.5 x 7.75 in. All engravings with toning at edgelines and minor soil but condition generally good. [With:] Lithograph "The Last Moments of John Brown " image size 8 x 9.5 in., 11.75 x 13 in. overall (toning, light soil, small tears along top edgeline). Gravure, Gebbie & Husson Co., 1889, after the painting by Thomas Hovenden Late 19th century print of U.S. Grant as a general, 7.75 x 9.75 (sight), framed to 12.5 x 14.25 in. (minor scratches on frame, print good but not removed from frame for inspection). -- Late 19th century print of General Robert E. Lee, 7.75 x 9.75 (sight) framed to 12.25 x 14.25 in. (minor scratches on frame, print good but not removed from frame for inspection). -- Engraving by John Sartain of Philadelphia, after original painting “Home on a Furlough” by C. Schussele, 1864. 16 x 12.26 (sight), framed to 21.5 x 17.5 in (scratches to frame, image heavily toned, dampstaining, loss to right side). Oval albumen portrait, possibly of Robert McKinley in Veteran Reserve Uniform, previous service in 2nd West Virginia Cavalry. N.p., n.d., 5.75 x 7.75 in.
