Five volumes, publishers's three-quarters leather. 16 x 11 inches (40 x 28 cm); 832 pp.; 832, 272 pp.; 273-832, 352 pp.; 353-848, iv, 256 pp.; 257-832, 144 pp.; wood-engravings throughout, including many after Winslow Homer including his classic The Sharpshooter. Several spines with losses of sections, some other portions loose, boards holding; within, a few paper defects, but, so far as we can determine, complete (all the known Homer images were located). Sold as a periodical, not subject to return. The Civil War years of Harper's Weekly are the single most extensive and compelling contemporaneously published visual record of the War. C
