Direct contact positives, possibly printed during the war and mounted later. Includes 2 photographs of members of the 170th New York Infantry, as identified in pencil on verso, posed on a hillside with their camp in the distance; 2 photographs of a company of the 139th Pennsylvania, as identified in pencil on verso, posed in a "square" with fixed bayonets; and a photograph of the Pontoon Bridge Over the James River at Deep Bottom, which was built in advance of the Richmond-Petersburg campaign in 1864. Condition: Images retain good tones; overall some very light, even toning.
