A group of 12 broadside song sheets, most with imprint of Charles Magnus New York, all undated [c.1860-1865], each 1 page, 8vo, all with large wood-engraved vignette illustration, ALL FINELY HAND-COLORED, including: "Brother, Tell me of the Battle" (vignette of battle scene), "Darkey Conscript" (scurrilous verses reflecting New York Copperhead, anti-Lincoln politics, vignette of shabby "Darkies"), "The Female Auctioneer" (vignette of fashionable maiden in a mountain landscape, waving flag), "The Volunteer's Song" (same vignette), "Tramp! Tramp! Tramp! The Prisoner's Hope" (large vignette view of Belle Isle, Richmond, Virginia), "The Dying Soldier to his Mother" (vignette of Union soldier supported by angel, battle and grieving mother in background), "The Last Rose of Summer" (vignette of rose), "Nellie of the North" (vignette of fetching maiden), "Pretty Sally," (another fetching maiden), "I'd Choose to be a Daisy" (decorative capital festooned with flowers) and "Love Thee" (2 copies, different vignettes and borders).
