COCKBURN, Sir George. A Voyage to Cadiz and Gibraltar, up the Mediterranean to Sicily and Malta in 1810, & 11. Including a description of Sicily and the Lipari islands and an excursion in Portugal . London: for J. Harding & Dublin: M. N. Mahon, 1815. 8° (240 x 149mm). Engraved titles each with aquatint vignette, 23 hand-coloured aquatint plates including frontispieces, 6 engraved maps and plans, 3 folding. Etched tailpiece to each volume. "Directions for placing the Plats" in volume I and errata leaf at end of volume II. (Titles and some maps spotted, chance crayon stroke slightly affecting frontispiece to vol. I. and plate opposite p. 291, plate opposite p. 162 in the same vol. affected by light crease marks and small spot, several other plates slightly crinkled. ) Green half roan over boards (rebacked, preserving a section of old spine, boards recovered, old endpapers preserved). Provenance : Maria Jackson 1836 (ownership inscription to front blank of vol. I). FIRST EDITION, LARGE PAPER COPY. The greater part of this work by Lt.
