Collection of autograph drafts by Cruikshank, interspersed with vigorous and lively drawings and doodles (a head of a goblin, a cat, a female nude, 18th century profiles, grotesque creatures, imps and sundry demons, an overweight Napoleon, etc), subjects including illustration notes for Catherine Crowe's The Night Side of Nature: or, Ghosts and Ghost Seers [1848], the "Life of a Livery Servant", "The Criminal Punishments of the Chinese", "Important information & suggestions to the Pope of Rome", "A Pop-Gun [fired off] by George Cruikshank" [1860], "No Repeal - No O'Connell! The Queen and the Union" [1843], an introduction to Stop Thief [1851], "What will you take to drink?", "Recommended by the Faculty" (two drafts), notes on photography ("...The Dageurotype/ Dageur/ Dageurreotype - or Talbot..."), draft letters, and much else; one written on the verso on an incoming letter, nearly 90 pages, folio and 4to, one sheet watermark 1830, dust-staining, c.1830-1860
