Jerusalem, Istanbul, Ankara and New York, 1943-1944. German, Hebrew and Yiddish (a few items in Hungarian, English and French). The collection includes: * Twenty-four letters concerning the granting of certificates, including thirteen letters from Jacob Grippel (representative of the Rescue Committee in Turkey); letter from Pappenheim to Julius Steinfeld (representative of the "Rescue Committee of the Association of Rabbis in the United States"); long letter from Julius Steinfeld to Isak Sternbuch (representative of the Rescue Committee in Switzerland, involved in negotiations with the Germans), mentioning sums of money, names of yeshiva heads and various topics; and additional letters. * Seven lists, typewritten, with names of candidates (apparently for receiving certificates), their personal details and names of contacts and associates in Palestine. * Sixteen forms of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, signed by hand, informing of the approval of an immigration permit for the appellant (in English). * Three forms of Agudat Israel, signed in the hand of Moshe Glickman Porush (one of the founders of Agudat Israel), informing of the grant of a permit to immigrate to Palestine. * Other items.
