Archive of "Association of Yeshiva Students - Jerusalem" - an internal organization for strengthening the fear of G-d and Torah study among yeshiva students in Jerusalem, during the stormy period which stirred many upright Torah students to leave the Beit Midrash and join underground movements. The collection is composed of inspiring essays, circular letters and protocols of assemblies gathered to hearten yeshiva students of the city. The collection includes: * Petition against reading non-religious newspapers titled "Basic regulation of the members of the gatherings" with signatures of 14 yeshiva students of the "old Yishuv" of Jerusalem. * Anonymous letters chastening young men who were inclined towards leaving the traditional Jewish path. Signed: "Yeshiva students", "The rouser". * Letter regarding the arson of a shop in Me'ah She'arim which sold non-religious newspapers. * Essays and letters signed by R. Yitzchak David Gutfarb and by R. Moshe Dov Salant (most of them in the handwriting of R. Moshe Dov Salant). * Poems and essays written during the period of the establishment of the State of Israel. Essays about the unruly behavior of the British army in Jerusalem streets in 1947 and notes about the siege and the shelling by the Jordan Legion during the War of Independence; "Reflections on the day of the declaration of the Jewish State in Eretz Israel"; about "Besieged Jerusalem" and "The fall of the Old City of Jerusalem into the hands of the army of Abdullah, King of Jordan". * (Signed) articles of Torah content submitted by Yeshiva students for publishing a compilation of Torah novellae.
