Album of letters, many to the suffragist and radical Jane Unwin, née Cobden (daughter of Richard Cobden and sister of Annie Cobden-Sanderson), others to her husband the publisher T. Fisher Unwin, to the socialist and feminist Margaret Macdonald née Gladstone (wife of Ramsay MacDonald), or to Margaret's father, the chemist John Hall Gladstone, including autograph letters etc by Charles Stewart Parnell (typed letter signed, to Jane Cobden, thanking her for a copy of "the resolution passed by public meeting at South Kensington in support of Mr Haldane's Women's Disabilities Bill...", 8 April 1890), Booker T. Washington (thanking Mrs Unwin "for the two volumes containing the life of your father" which he is glad to receive from her own hand, London, 17 July 1899), Olive Schreiner (to Mrs Unwin), Lord Shaftesbury, Ouida, Flinders Petrie, O.W. Holmes (signed printed verses), Theodore Watts Dunton, Edgar Wallace, Ramsay MacDonald (written on the eve of the 1929 General Election - "thank goodness, the whole thing will be over now by to-morrow night..."), Oliver Lodge, John Tyndall (to Gladstone, about Faraday's apparatus), W.S.
