COLOR PLATE] [PAPWORTH, JOHN BUONAROTTI]. Select Views of London with Historical and Descriptive Sketches of some of the most interesting of the Public Buildings . London: R. Ackermann, 1816. First edition in book form, paper with Whatman 1816 watermark, the issue without the author's name on the title (no priority). Full dark blue morocco chastely gilt by Riviere & Son. 10 x 7 inches (25 x 17 cm); title, [8], 169 pp., with 76 hand-colored plates of London views, of which 5 are folding. Joints rubbed and weak; within, soiling to the edge of one text leaf, but overall an extremely clean copy. A fine Ackermann production, the plates of which are mostly aquatint, with some line engraving, all delicately hand-colored. Abbey Scenery 217. C
