.45 caliber, 7.5" barrel, S/N 1-JM. Colt factory letter (included) information: Serial number: 1-JM Caliber: .45/c (non-fluted cylinder) Barrel length: 7 1/2" Finish: Royal Blue with gold plated backstrap, trigger guard, hammer, trigger, base pin, and ejector rod head. Type of stocks: Carved ivory with a scroll pattern motif and fitted with gold plated Great Seal of the United States medallions. Factory Engraved: Yes, by Colt Master Engraver Howard Dove. See remarks section for details. Presentation case: Ostrich leather case, French fitted to accommodate the revolver and a complete set of ivory accessories. Colt Custom Shop Order: #1396 Date of Shipment: December 19, 1980 [Page 2] Remarks: The above firearm is custom embellished as follows: -Class "C" scroll engraving -Gold inlaid depiction of President James Monroe on the left side of the frame. -A gold inlaid depiction of the White House on the left side of the cylinder. -A gold inlaid American flag of the period is located on the right side of the cylinder. -Gold inlaid serial number 1-JM. -James Monroe gold inlaid in script on the left side of the barrel as the model designation. -Gold inlaid fleur-de-lis border around model designation further enhanced with three gold stars at each end. -Two thin gold bands at the barrel muzzle and one wide gold inlaid band at the rear of the barrel and ejector tube. -Thirteen gold inlaid stars bordering the rear of the cylinder. -Gold inlaid frame border. -The dates 1817-1825, which are representative of James Monroe's term in office, are engraved at the top of the backstrap. -Engraved in block style on the backstrap is the inscription "5th President of the United States". Condition: New in the case.
