The 1792 issue includes in the first and second columns, under the heading "Published by Authority, Congress of the United States," the 12 constitutional amendments proposed in 1789, of which articles 3 through 12 had recently been ratified, on Dec. 15, 1791, and became Amendments 1 though 10, commonly known as the Bill of Rights. Other items of interest include an article on the "pecuniary sacrifices" of Lafayette to the American Revolution and the invention of an "Air-Gun" in Rhode Island. The 1791 issue contains news of the introduction of a US Senate bill to admit Kentucky as a separate state (which was approved by Congress less than one week later, on Feb. 4), as well as an editorial regarding the abolishment of French titles of nobility and a lengthy speech by John Hancock on US debt. Condition: Both separated at the spine and archivally re-hinged.
