Commemorative Medals, George III, Indian Peace Medal, silver, 77 mm., unsigned and undated (c.1778-1812), cuirassed bust of George III right, single row of curls, hair tied behind, seven rivets on cuirass above the sash, one rivet below, rev. crowned royal arms with supporters, lion's foot resting on I of HONI, pierced at 12 o'clock, the usual silver loop being replaced by a crude copper ring, perhaps contemporary, with the remains of a dark blue or black riband (Jamieson 16 & 18; Adams A7.3), slight die flaw on cravat, several small knocks on the edge and some abrasions on both sides but very fine, rare
