Roundel portraits of presidents up to the newly elected Zachary Taylor, wreathed in laurel and unusually depicted in civilian dress rather than his typical military uniform. Interestingly, the artist reflects Taylor’s campaign promise to not seek re-election, preemptively showing his presidency dates as 1849-1853.
