Widmann, circa 1835: curved 31 1/2 inch blade engraved and gilt with conventional motifs, brass stirrup hilt, leather and wire-wrapped grip, leather scabbard with brass throat. Mowbray for an illustration of this type. 2) Infantry officers saber, circa 1805-20: curved 28 1/2 inch blade with 14 inch blued and gilt panel engraved with panoplies and florals, brass stirrup hilt with Ketland style eagle and traces of silver plating, reeded bone grip. No scabbard. 3) Infantry officers saber: curved 29 inch blade engraved and gilt with small conventional panels; silvered brass hilt, the languets with American eagles, the knucklebow with trophies a la antique, one-piece eagle pommel/backstrap. No scabbard. Condition: 1) Blade with areas of pitting, hilt with dark patina, scabbard scuffed, throat missing frog stud. 2) Blade with light pitting and retaining most gilt and much blued decoration, hilt with traces of silver. 3) Blade with areas of pitting and dark patina, hilt with traces of silver, grip missing wire wrapping.
