Beschreibung:

comprising 46 broadside poems (only, of 48) from the four folios, limited editions signed by the poets, Betjeman’s with autograph correction, fine and loose as issued together in modern cloth portfolio, with some loose related ephemera, folio, 1970-74. *** A near-complete run of this wonderfully representative series of modern poetry, commencing from the Club's foundation in 1970 through to the fourth, last set in this format but lacking the two issues from that set which were issued later in 1977. The Club's ambition was to publish a "substantial and characteristic" original poem by a leading British poet on a monthly basis, and contributors included such notable worthies as W.H. Auden, Robert Graves Seamus Heaney, Philip Larkin, Cecil Day-Lewis and Stevie Smith. The poems were printed on good quality paper-stock broadsides, suitable for framing, each signed by the poet.
