The text sets out the confraternity's duties to the saint and each other in 35 chapters. The town that the chapter was based in is named in ch. xxx as "la ciudad de Çaragoça", and the document is authorised by Mattheus de Canseco, archbishop of "Caesaraugustanus", the central region of northern Spain that encloses Zaragosa. Such confraternities boomed in late medieval Spain as an expression of local devotion to saint cults.
