Five volumes comprising: i) London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1896, first English edition, first printing, smooth green cloth lettered in gilt on spine [binding variant not recorded by Cagle], recased, clumsy repairs to binding; ii) London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1919, "fourth impression"; iii) London: Eveleigh Nash & Grayson, 1922, [later impression], corners bumped; iv) London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1923, "fifth impression", frontispiece portrait, slightly bowed; v)London: T. Fisher Unwin, 1927, "eighth impression" The Nigger of the Narcissus / The Children of the Sea. Nine volumes, comprising i) London: Heinemann, 1898, "new impression" [second printing], original slate grey cloth; ii) London: Heinemann, 1898, [first colonial printing], publisher’s catalogue, red cloth ["no copy of the first colonial printing has been located in the colonial cloth binding" – Cagle], some spotting, restoration to binding; iii) London: Heinemann, 1898, "new impression" [colonial printing]; iv) New York: Dodd, Mead and Co., 1899, [later printing] bound with Galsworthy, later cloth binding; v) New York: Dodd, Mead and Co., n.d.
