Doubleday, 2 pages, c.26 May 1923; the second apparently comprising preliminary notes for the 1924 article Conrad Pays Tribute to Mark Twain ("...Mark Twain - a very good pilot. I often thought of him when I commanded a steamer in 1900 [sic] on the Congo...When looking for snags, tried to think of Mark...Congo really drove me off the sea..."), 2 pages, written in pencil on used blotting paper, c.1923-24
