PUTNAM'S SONS, 1902 8vo, second printing, six half-tone plates after Maurice Greiffenhagen 4pp. publisher's advertisements at end, original dark green smooth cloth printed in orange on spine and pictorially stamped in grey and orange on upper cover, collector's green morocco-backed folding case, extremities rubbed, crease to spine, scuffing to lower cover; with a tipped-in autograph letter by Conrad to an unidentified recipient, concerning the publication by Doubleday in the "Deep Sea" edition of his plays The Secret Agent and One Day More ("...There is no other edition of the play. But before long D[oubleday]. P[age] & Co. will publish in the Deep Sea edition a vol containing my plays...The date of that publication is not arranged yet however..."), 2 pages, 8vo, on headed stationery ("Oswalds, Bishopsbourne, Kent"), Bishopsbourne, 28 March 1922
