Coppard (A. E., story-writer and poet, 1878-1957) A collection of 30 short stories, autograph manuscripts, c.400pp. in pen and pencil, on blank and lined paper and 2 exercise books, corrections in the author's hand a few with substantial sections crossed through, paper clips with some rust marks to head, creasing and some browning to margins, 4to, 1928-44. ⁂ A substantial collections of manuscript short stories by the prolific Coppard. Coppard is chiefly celebrated for his contribution to the short story form and the present collection is a testament to his productivity while also providing an insight into his methods of revising, excising and improving his work. While individual manuscript stories by Coppard do appear occasionally at auction, we can trace no similar archive on the open market in recent years.
