Author: Blondel, Jacques-François Place: Paris Publisher: Chez Desaint Date: 1771-1777 Description: 8 volumes (of 9). 6 text volumes and 2 (of 3) plate volumes. 272 engraved plates, many folding. (8vo) text volumes 21.5x13.5 cm (8½x5¼"), plate volumes 22x15 cm (8¾x6"), period full mottled calf, spines gilt, morocco labels. First edition of the 'Petit Blondel', considered the most influential architectural work of its day. After Blondel's death in 1774 the work was completed by Pierre Patte his disciple and former student. Lacking the first plate volume which contains an additional 105 plates. Lot Amendments Condition: Bindings rubbed; light foxing, a few of the large folding plates with some edge wear; overall very good. Item number: 242285
