Mar 8" c.d.s. cancels on 1855 buff cover to Melbourne, Australia, also tied by red London transit, magenta ms. "28" credit (to Britain), red "1d" h.s. overstruck by red "butterfly" grid, ms. "2" due mark, red "New-York Br. Pkt. Mar 13" exchange h.s. on reverse, faint red "Ship Letter, Melbourne" oval h.s. on reverse, carried by the Cunard Line's packet Canada from Boston to Liverpool and then on to Melbourne, this cover paid the 33c rate by British Mail via England, negligible light cover staining at bottom left, otherwise fine , a very rare 3c 1851 Issue multiple franking to a scarce destination photo
