York Steamship Feb 26' circular arrival pmk. on orange buff cover from Brazil to Ala., the U.S. stamp is just barely tied on a few perf. tips by the U.S. arrival pmk., but a 'Due 7' straight line handstamp confirms the acceptance of the U.S. stamp upon arrival (accepted as partial payment of the 10c American Packet rate), based upon the Brazilian stamp this cover was used during the period 1867-70, slightly reduced at right, some faults affecting reverse only, OTHERWISE VERY FINE, AN EXTREMELY SCARCE USE OF A UNITED STATES STAMP FROM BRAZIL ATTEMPTING TO PREPAY THE U.S. DOMESTIC POSTAGE
