Crèveceour kept careful notes and collected various materials which constituted the raw materials for his books. The archive includes: Autograph notebook labeled "Sundrys and Gleanings 1810," [Munich], 1810. 38 pp., 8vo, bound in original wrappers , primarily in French. Numerous notes on the United States with state population figures for 1790 and 1810, details on the cotton industry and American ships.-- Autograph notes on the last page of a French Government pamphlet, "Memoire aux Consuls de la Republique Francaise," Paris, "le 10 Floreal an 8." 37 pp., folio , in French.-- Autograph notes and diagrams on the verso of a map, Map of the Middle States of North America with part of Canada , n.p., [c. 1800]. 1 p., 18 5/8 x 13¼ in. , in French. Crèvecoueur makes references to specific locations on the map and draws what appears to be a pulley device. -- Miscellaneous unbound notes.
