Cruikshank (George) [ Collection of Illustrations to Ainsworth's 'Jack Sheppard '], comprising : 29 etchings including two in 2 states, a few excerpts & illustrations, lithographed pictorial cover to piano music featuring Sheppard and another smaller version of the same plate 'The Flash Ken', all mounted on blank leaves, some foxed and browned but mostly to album leaves, gilt-stamped oval bookplate of Alexander Lawson Duncan, contemporary half morococ, spine gilt, uncut, rubbed, [Cohn 12/13 & 699], [1839] § Leech (John) Follies of the Year, hand-coloured pictorial title and plates by Leech, half-title and title loose, light soiling, original half morocco, gilt, worn, [c.1866]; and 27 others, illustrated, humour, v.s. (29) ⁂ Including both states of the two plates found in variant states: Jack Sheppard visits his Mother in Bedlam (first state with bare walls and ceiling not hatched as in Bentley's Miscellany ) and Jack Sheppard escaping from the condemned Hold (first state with cloak on the floor).
