Baldwyn, 1823 (vol. 1); James Robins and Joseph Robins, Jun r., 1826 (vol. 2). 2 volumes, 12 o (193 x 112 mm. [vol. 1], 191 x 113 mm. [vol. 2]). 2 engraved titles with etched vignettes and 20 etched plates by George Cruikshank (some pale offsetting). Vol. 1 in original pictorial tan boards, uncut (slight soiling) and vol. 2 in original cloth-backed pink boards, uncut, printed paper label (label and corners worn); full morocco pull-off case. Provenance : Reuben Jay Flick (bookplates); Robert Norton Ganz (bookplate). FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, FIRST ISSUE, with the list of plates on p. [218], and without the sub-title for "The Travelling Musicians." The plates in the first volume printed in bistre, as usual. With 12 pp. advertisements at end of vol. 1 and one page ad at end of vol. 2. A FINE AND RARE SET IN ORIGINAL BOARDS.
