(Some faint scattered spotting.) 20th-century red buckram, morocco spine and cover labels, slipcase. Provenance : William Hartmann Woodin (1868-1934, industrialist and Secretary of the Treasury, 1933; acquired at his sale, 4 December 1941). A STRIKING SERIES OF BOXING PRINTS, SELDOM FOUND UNITED, WOODIN COPY. The subjects are: Cooper the Gypsy; Garrell, the Suffolk Champion; John Martin; Bill Neate; James Ward (on india paper, mounted); James Ward; Ben Burn; Richard Curtis; Spring (title and imprint abraded); John Langan (trimmed shorter); Josh Hudson; Tom Shelton (diagonal crease lower right); Cannon (trimmed shorter). Not in Hartley.
