CURRER, Frances Mary Richardson (1785-1861) -- C.J. STEWART. A Catalogue of the Library Collected by Miss Richarson Currer at Eshton Hall, Craven, Yorkshire . London: printed for private circulation only by J. Moyes, 1833. 8 o (250 x 157 mm). Steel-engraved frontispiece showing Eshton Hall and 3 steel-engraved plates of the library and its surroundings. Contemporary half morocco, spine gilt, t.e.g. (worn, front cover detached). Provenance : The London Oratory (bookplate). Catalogue of the great collection of England's first acknowledged female bibliophile. One of one hundred copies of this rare revised professional catalogue of Miss Currer's library which were printed for private circulation. An earlier (and less augmented) catalogue of the collection was published in 1820. Most of the books in her library were auctioned at Sotheby's in 1862, realizing £6,000. Taylor, p. 5.
