With the six line colophon on last page. The basis for two film versions, including the 1971 cult film starring Gene Wilder as Wonka and the recent remake by Tim Burton featuring Johnny Depp as the eccentric owner of the fantastic candy plant. The present is a true first, the American edition oddly preceding the English by three years.
