Folding wood-engraved plate, illustrations, 16-pages of publisher's advertisements at the end dated May 1872. (A few light spots and stains.) Original dark plum cloth decorated in blind with orchid motif stamped on upper cover (extremities rubbed, spine rather faded). Provenance : Mark Dineley (armorial bookplate) -- Greene & Co., Dublin (booksellers label). FIRST EDITION. Freeman 800, binding variant b (but note later date of advertisements).
