Translations and commentary on Aristotle by the 5th-6th century Roman statesman and philosopher, the last great Roman writer who understood Greek. Edited by Julianus Martianus Rota; the earliest publication may have been the 1559 edition. Possibly a re-issue of Joannes Gryphius' Venice 1566 edition; the final leaf recto has the Gryphius printer's device and the texts included are the same. The RLG Union Catalogue locates only the copy in the Library of Congress. Lot Amendments Condition: Chipping to spine ends, tiny wormholes in spine; recent endpapers, top & bottom edges of the title-page darkened, light dampstain to top corner of title and following leaves, else very good.
