Broadside on vellum, approximately 30 1/2 x 25 1/2 inches, engraved by Peter Maverick minor creasing, dime-size hole in 3rd line and a closed tear near bottom. The first decorative print of the manuscript Declaration of Independence, and the first to include facsimile signatures. Tyler was a penmanship professor in Washington, he notes that he "designed and executed the ornamental writing, and has been particular to copy the Facsimiles exact and has also observed the same punctuation and copied every Capital as in the original." Very few copies are known to survive on vellum. See illustration.
