Beschreibung:

Description Designed by one of the great automobile engineers of the 20th century, Dante Giacosa, the ‘New 500′ was the second car to wear the Fiat 500 name. Italy loved it immediately on release in 1957, and by the time it ceased production in 1975 more than four million had been produced. Although the car developed over the years, most notably when the door hinges moved from the back of the door to the front in 1965, the basic design, and most crucially its charming personality, remained. A 500 is economical, cute, reliable and fun to drive; attributes that give it appeal in the classic car world now just as they did when Rome was full of 500s zipping every which way. Chassis 11F2409431 was originally a French market car and had been standing outside, badly corroded, for some years when it was rescued by Ant Anstead of Evanta Motors for Series 2 of Channel 4’s ‘For the Love of Cars’. Since then it has been completely restored by Ant working with the team at restoration specialists MRH in Hertford. This has involved a large number of new panels and many hours welding. This now totally rot free bodyshell was then sprayed throughout in Fiat Azure Blue and the interior was retrimmed in biscuit with black carpets while the fabric roof was rebuilt in a light tan which looks fantastic against the blue. The suspension has been rebuilt with new components throughout as have the brakes and fuel system. The engine, gearbox and ancillaries have also been completely rebuilt while the wheels have been shot blasted, powder coated and fitted with new tyres. All the chrome has either been replaced or re-chromed to a high standard. Even the steering wheel has been refurbished to perfect condition. The result is an utterly charming ‘as new’ Fiat 500 which has had a no expense spared restoration for the love of the car; replicating this would cost a small fortune. An opportunity to own a Fiat 500 of this standard and in this stunning factory original colour combination does not come along often and it’s sure to attract strong bidding from enthusiasts and those who want just a little bit of Italian glamour in their life.
