(16 7/16 x 11in.), contemporary dark red morocco, spine gilt, worn, joints and extremities rubbed, 2 double-page plates with very small holes at gutters, 3 with short marginal tears, light showthrough and offsetting, occasional light staining . Second issue of the first edition, with Anisson's printed label pasted down over the original Coignard imprint on the title-page, engraved architectural title, 137 full-page engravings (21 double-page), by Le Pautre, S. Le Clerc, N. Guerard and others after Desgodetz. Berkin Katalog 1863; Fowler 102 (first issue).
