DESIGNER UNKNOWN SILT PILE NO. 9. Circa 1969. 34 7/8x34 7/8 inches. The Architecture Foundation, Tempe. Condition B+: pinholes in corners, minor discoloration; abrasions in image; vertical and horizontal folds. Paper. A unique graphic record of a singularly unique project. Arcosanti is an architectural community in Arizona based on the principles of Arcology. This combination of architecture and ecology was founded by Italian architect Paolo Soleri who created the Cosanti Foundation in the 1950s. According to their website, "this ecological human habitat . . . [explores] an alternative urban development in the age of economic crisis." This poster is calling on students to enroll in a new course in Paolo Soleri's studio, which will focus on the construction of concrete shells, sculptures and scale models.
