Diego Giacometti Swiss, 1902-1985 Console Chevreuil, Biche et Bambi, circa 1975 Bronze and glass Signed Diego and monogrammed DG With certificate of authenticity from James Lord and letters from Serge Matta and Pierre Matisse. Height 31 3/4 inches (81 cm), width 67 inches (1.7 m), depth 15 inches (38 cm). Provenance: Purchased directly from Serge Matta by the current owner in March, 1982 Collection of Serge Matta Pierre Mattise Gallery, New York, NY Note: The certificate of authenticity states "this console is a unique piece and was commissioned for Monsieur Serge Matta" and the letter to Serge Matta from Pierre Mattise states this console was "commissioned for your country house." C
A few small scattered scuffs to the patina revealing the brassy metal color underneath, especially along top right edge.
