Condition : wide margins, minor thinned area only visible when held to light, overall a strong impression. Provenance : Martin P. Snyder. a fine dutch sea chart of the mid-atlantic coast, with an inset of philadelphia after thomas holme. First issued by Doncker in 1688, Van Keulen acquired his plates and reissued the map with various changes (most notably reworking the cartouche of the original into the inset of Boston Harbor) beginning in 1706. The inset of Philadelphia on both the original and this later issue is derived from the Dutch edition of Thomas Holme’s plan.
