I-IV] and Law and Gilbert [vol. V] for the author and F. & C. Rivington, 1802-1808. 5 volumes, 8° (240 x 144mm.) 120 hand-coloured engraved plates by and after Donovan. UNCUT. (Some spotting, small corner of vol. III title torn.) Contemporary diced russia-backed marbled boards, title lettered on spines (joints and spine ends worn). Provenance : S.E. Norris (early flyleaf inscriptions) -- [Henry Sotheran & Co., London, bookseller's ticket)]. FIRST EDITION. The finely-coloured plates depict all of the common British fish species as well as a number of rarer visitors: sun-fish, king-fish, electric-ray, and others.
