Doves Bindery.- Shelley (Percy Bysshe) Poetical Works, edited by H.Buxton Forman, 2 vol., frontispieces (lightly offset onto titles), leather book-label of Haven O'More, bound in crushed blue morocco, by T.J.Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Bindery, spines titled in gilt in one compartment with leafy spray decoration, numbered in compartment below and dated at foot, turn-ins with triple gilt rule and three leafy sprays at corners, signed "The Doves Bindery 1894" on rear turn-in and signed and dated by Cobden-Sanderson "T.J.C.S. 1894" in ink on rear free endpapers, g.e., spines a little faded, slight rubbing to joints, faint scratch to upper cover of vol.1, [Tidcombe DB93], 8vo, 1892. ⁂ Probably one of the first bindings undertaken by the Doves Bindery, and it is very unusual for a binding to be signed in ink by Cobden-Sanderson.
