DOYLE, Arthur Conan, Sir. Autograph letter signed ("A C D.") to Grant Richards, Hindhead, England, n.d. [c. 1900]. 1 page, 8vo , framed with picture, unexamined out of frame . DOYLE'S SCATHING DISMISSAL OF AN UN-NAMED BOOK. After his return to England from Egypt, Doyle, offers unflinching criticism of a book which has been sent to him Richards, presumably for review: "The book is handicapped by the uncouth title, the hideous binding, and the rather close type. Also by the continual preciosity of the style and the difficult names all through. There is real talent & imagination in it but I can't conceive its surviving all these drawbacks. May I be mistaken!"
