Drinkwater (John).- Gaskin (Arthur, artist, designer, and teacher, 1862-1928) Portrait of A[lbert] E[dward] Drinkwater, John Drinkwater's father, pencil on oatmeal wove paper, signed with initials and dated '1916', inscribed 'A.E. Drinkwater', sheet 280 x 195 mm. (11 x 7 3/4 in), some spotting and browning, framed and glazed, 1916; together with a good group of 20 drawings, prints and photographs, some of John Drinkwater himself, but largely relating to the early life of his only daughter Penelope Ann Drinkwater, but also includes a portrait of John Drinkwater by Leslie Ritkin, a photograph of Augustus John's portrait of Bernard Shaw, signed dedicated from Augustus John to Drinkwater, an ink drawing by Ralph Hodgson for Penelope Ann with inscription below by Drinkwater, ten watercolours of Drinkwater's family by an unknown hand, and also includes an album of sketches of Penelope Ann, various mediums and sizes, some framed, early 20th century (small qty.)
