[Reproduced after 1995 from his color slides.] A color photograph of the decorated nose of Bockscar, signed by 6 of the 13 man crew, who flew the mission to Nagasaki on the 9th August 1945. The photograph is signed by the Commander Sweeney, Albury, Olivi, Ashworth, Gallagher and Kuharek, with the additional signature of one of the mechanics from Tinian, Bob Haider, the signatures collected by the official historian for the 509th Composite Group, at various reunions in the period 1996 to 2006. The photograph unframed. 8 x 11.5 inches. Provenance: Robert Krauss, Official Historian for the 509th Composite Group. The crew that flew Bockscar on its mission to drop the second atomic bomb on Nagasaki was not the regular crew of the bomber. Sweeney and his crew from the "Great Artiste" were brought in and took over the plane, from Commander Bock (hence the name Bock's car).
